fib SYMPOSIUM 2020
Concrete Structures for Resilient Society
22nd-24th November, 2020, ONLINE
The fib (Fédération internationale du béton/The International Federation for Structural Concrete) is the world's leading organization in the promotion and standardization of concrete structures. With its annual fib symposiums recognized for the promoting innovations in concrete material and construction, these international industry gatherings are held on a regular basis, providing engineers and researchers working in the field of concrete structures an opportunity to meet and share their insights. In accordance with the fib's policy, the symposiums are open to researchers, designers, civil engineers and other specialists, as well as students interested in all subjects related to concrete structures.
Concrete structures play a critical role in making communities stronger and safer and are dispensable for constructing highways, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams and other architectures. Of all construction materials for buildings and other infrastructures, concrete is by far the most disaster-resilient material. Resilience is the capability of society to adapt to and recover from hazards, shocks or stresses without compromising long-term prospects for development. With the theme of “Concrete Structures for Resilient Society”, the fib Symposium 2020 will be held ONLINE during 22nd to 24th November, 2020. The topic of the symposium will cover the development and innovation within areas from concrete materials to structures.
We are pleased to have all authors and participants interested in the above subject areas and intended to share their achievements in the development of concrete technology, its analysis and design, as well as the durability of concrete structures. Since tremendous advances are made for sustainable concrete materials such as recycled aggregate concrete and the use of concrete materials in important and challenging projects in recent years, special sessions will also be organized in order to share the most up-to-date knowledge in the related areas during the symposium.
The scientific program will include the Plenary and Concurrent Session and will run for over three days. Plenary discussions and poster sessions will also be incorporated into the program. Paper dealing with different themes and topics of the symposium will be selected from abstracts submitted to the scientific committee. These papers will be presented orally, by poster or both. At the plenary session, invited speakers will present lectures on Key Symposium Topics.
We look forward to E-MEETING everyone in November 2020!
